It’s my Mother’s birthday today. Happy Birthday Mom, congratulations on another fabulous year!!!
I bought her a voice recorder, to help her collate the many memories compiled over the years. Now all she has to do is learn how to use it.
She is a practicing Christian, a Methodist as some of you may already know.
It’s interesting to compare the Christian background I was brought up in and Mom’s Methodist Religion, and the Buddhist Practice I now choose.
Interesting too, that Nichiren Buddhism is an atheist belief system, which fits my way of thinking much more closely.
Any way, Happy Birthday Mom, and many happy returns too.

Is Nichiren Buddhism really atheist? do you not still recognise the divinity or creative source potential with an Earthling 🙂 Something Infinite, beyond measure or perhaps beyond our current conception of “God”? The highest potential we can currently conceive of….

We recognise the ability of each individual to reach a state of enlightenment, or Buddhahood, we do not however believe that this state is empowered or enabled by some omnipotent being outside the self. Nichiren Buddhism has no god or gods, so is truly atheistic and hence, I believe, a philosophy rather than a religion. Namaste ~ Anupadin

Sorry to bother you…. I can see how that Immortal Self or the Soul could evolve through the practice of Nichiren Buddhism…. but I think I am talking about something that I feel that is beyond the Immortal Self, I can’t describe it, but it only comes “at the feet of the Master” as some would say… a welling up of all experience, a devotional response of the heart… a crying out…. but a crying out to what, a devotional response to what? Something Beyond, Something Infinite….
When this happens, I am then ready…..
Thanks, I enjoy your daily posts 🙂
