Merry Christmas to all my Christian readers, may you all have a wonderfully peaceful day.

To all other denominations, enjoy the holiday and be nice to one another.

My deepest wish for this holiday, and for the coming year, is that we all learn to live together in peace and harmony. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if, in 2015, there were no more reports of war, and that governments got together to wipe out disharmony, poverty, famine and injustice. Just imagine what that would mean for mankind.

As a Buddhist, I am not about to hijack one of the most important days in the Christian calendar, but on this festive day, may I wish you all a very happy Christmas and hope that for once, we can make it through the day without reports of incidents of conflict anywhere around the world.

Peace and Good Will to all citizens of planet Earth, may our wish of Kosen-Rufu, Peace to all Mankind, come true over the festive season and continue into the approaching New Year.

2011 has been an amazing year. The Arab Spring has resulted in the people of several former despotic countries taking back control of their own lands. My wish for 2012 is that the process continues, that there is a levelling of wealth throughout all the capitalist countries, and a general move towards peace throughout the world.

A firm hold on reality should not entail being swamped by or resting easy in the status quo.

To pioneer uncharted ways requires that people today keep the lamp of optimism lit.
